Guidelines for Awarding Credit
- Students must submit official transcripts from accredited colleges and universities for review of credit. Grades must be C or better.
- Duplicate courses will not be approved, but a course description from prior institutions may differ in its goals and objectives and may be considered a different course.
- Transfer credits from schools attended previously that appear on a second school’s transcript must be substantiated with official transcripts from the schools of origin.
- If a student attended a proprietary school, for courses to be evaluated as equivalent to college level instruction, the institution must be accredited by a regional accrediting agency or by a professional agency.
- Professional Training that includes CEU certification will not be awarded college credit, but may be used as documentation in a Portfolio Review.
- Portfolio Review is a means of earning credit through life experience (personal or professional experience). Discuss this option with the director of the program.
- All PONSI or ACE certified courses are accepted for credit.
- CLEP, College Level Education Program examinations are accepted for credit.
- DANTES is similarly recognized.
- No remedial courses accepted. Credit will only be granted for 100 or above level courses.
- Credit evaluations for foreign transcripts must be made by World Education Services, Inc.
- Certain licenses with qualifying examinations or certifications may be approved for credit.
- Credit for other evaluated programs (professional, government, and military) will be awarded on an individual basis.
- Credit for executive institute training and corporate leadership schools will be determined on an individual basis
- Credit will be accepted for course work completed at police academies.
