School of Arts

The faculty in the School of Arts are noted for their dedication to research and their love of teaching. In the past two years, Arts faculty have published a broad range of books and scholarly articles. Yet the challenge of a lively give-and-take in a classroom of learners is what makes them tick. Whether it is in a Core course, a course for majors, or a free elective, students will find they are known by name. Students spend time in faculty offices—deciding on courses to take, discussing the latest assignment, arguing a point of philosophy or politics or poetics. Students and faculty at Manhattan share their excitement about learning for the sake of learning, experiencing the sheer joy of knowing.
