Education:

Research and Scholarly Interests:

Composition, Jazz, Musical Theater, and Piano

Recordings and Appearances:

Professor Behr has recorded several CDs, including original musicals, classical piano works, and "Suite Memoirs," a recent recording featuring original piano works.  He has performed throughout the U.S., including appearances with the Virginia Symphony, the Naples Philharmonic, the Florida Symphonic Pops, as well as solo performances at Alice Tully Hall, the Ravinia and Chautauqua Music Festivals, and on WXEL and WNYC.  Prof. Behr has also served as musical director and conductor in many productions and was a composer in the renowned BMI Musical Theater Workshop.   To date, he has written a number of musical dramatic works, including The Count of Monte Cristo (currently under New York representation).

Awards and Scholarships:

Prof. Behr won scholarship awards from Julliard and The Chautauqua Festival and is a prize-winner in eight piano competitions.
