Research and Scholarly Interests:

Renaissance Spain: the epistolary and didactic writings of St. Teresa of Avila, Cervantes’ Don Quijote, the interrelationships of the fine arts and literature in the works of Cervantes, the classical tradition in the poetry of Garcilaso de la Vega, women’s discourse in early modern Spain. Colonial and contemporary Latin American literature.
