Sigma Delta Pi

Sigma Delta Pi is the International Spanish Honor Society for excellence in the Spanish language and Hispanic Culture. Students with a 3.0 GPA who have taken at least three courses at or above the 300 level and have maintained a 3.5 average in those courses are invited to join.

The Society is among the nation's oldest honorary fraternities; it was founded in 1919 at the University of California at Berkeley for the purpose of fostering interest in the field of Hispanic studies and for acknowledging those who excel in the Society's mission.

The Manhattan College chapter, Theta Mu, was established in 1956.

Pi Delta Phi

Pi Delta Phi is the International French Honor Society for excellence in the French language and French Culture.  Students who are in their Junior or Senior year with a 3.0 GPA who have taken at least five French courses including one in French literature and have maintained a 3.5 average in those courses are invited to join.

The Society was founded as a departmental honor society at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1906.  After twenty years as a local chapter, Pi Delta Phi declared itself the National French Honor Society in 1925.

The Manhattan College chapter, Iota Pi, was established in 1983.

Delta Phi Alpha

Delta Phi Alpha is the National Honor Society for excellence in the German language and German Culture.  The Manhattan College chapter was established in 1955.
