Philosophy

Description of Undergraduate Program:

The Philosophy Department offers a major and a minor in Philosophy with courses covering the entire history of philosophy from the ancient Greeks to the present. The department also offers interdisciplinary courses that relate philosophy to history, literature, economics, government, psychology, and sociology. The department emphasizes critical thinking in all its courses. A major or minor in philosophy prepares students for careers in law, political science, and teaching.
