Program: Catholic Studies Cluster

The Catholic Studies Cluster at Manhattan College is a fifteen-credit interdisciplinary study open to all Manhattan College students. The Cluster focuses on common themes within the Catholic tradition through course offerings in Education, English, Fine Arts, Government, History, Modern Foreign Language, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. The cross-disciplinary nature of the Cluster allows all who are interested in the rich and diverse heritage of Catholicism to explore its manifestation in Catholic beliefs, religious practices, moral teachings, historical development, literary texts, philosophical foundations, artistic manifestations, and everyday life.

General Guidelines for Transcript Recognition

  • Students must sign up with the Dean of Arts or the Cluster Coordinator.
  • Students must take 15 credits of pre-approved courses.
  • No more than two courses from any one department will be counted toward a Cluster.
  • Courses used in the Cluster may not be used toward a major or another minor.
  • Students will receive transcript recognition upon completion of their last Cluster course.
