Research and Scholarly Interests:

Christian Social Ethics, Catholic Social Teaching, Peace Studies

Publications:

Dr. Fahey is the author of War and the Christian Conscience:  Where Do You Stand?, Reinhold Niebuhr on Human Nature and World Peace, and the editor of A  Peace Reader: Essential Readings on War, Justice, Nonviolence and World Order.  He has also written Irenology: The Study of Peace, and Peace, War and the Christian Conscience.  He has written many articles, essays, and reviews on war and peace issues and Catholic Social Teaching on labor unions.

Professional and Community Activities:

Dr. Fahey is a co-founder and former General Secretary and Chairperson of Pax Christi, USA and was named a Pax Christi Ambassador of Peace.  He also served on the international Council of Pax Christi International.  Dr. Fahey has served on the National Councils of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, The Peace Studies Association, and the Consortium on Peace Research, Education and Development.  He has served at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) representative for the University Center for Peace Research (Vienna), and a s an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association.

Dr. Fahey is co-founder and Chair of Catholic Scholars for Worker Justice and serves on the Workers Rights Board of New York Jobs with Justice.  He also serves on the Boards of Catholic in Alliance for the Common Good and Interfaith Worker Justice.  He is a member of the New York State Committee of the Working Families Party (WFP).

Dr. Fahey is a member of the Catholic Theological Society of America, the American Academy of Religion, and the Labor and Working-Class History Association.
