School of EducationSpecial Programs and ActivitiesIN-TECH Middle School is a newly developed technology infused 6-12 School in Community District 10 in the Bronx borough of New York City. Manhattan College’s School of Education has participated in its development since the beginning. Dr. Corine Fitzpatrick represents Manhattan College on IN- TECH’s Leadership Board. The Jonas Bronck Academy is a New Visions Middle School located in Hayden Hall on the campus of Manhattan College. Dr. Karen Nicholson was a part of the developmental team who designed the vision for the school and has involved college faculty from many disciplines in activities at the school. The School of Education continues an active collaboration with the school through faculty representation on its Leadership Board (Dr. James Harten). Manhattan College’s School of Education received a Preparing Teachers to Teach with Technology grant from the United States Department of Education in 2000. TITAN – Transforming Instruction through Technology and Networking – has enabled our professors, our students, as well as the professional educators in K-12 schools who collaborate with us, to engage in a learning community to embrace technology into practice.
