School of Engineering

Programs

In essence, our Mission here in the School of Engineering is to prepare each of our students for a productive and rewarding career in engineering or a related profession.

Toward that Mission, Manhattan College offers programs leading to the baccalaureate degree in six disciplines (see note below). All of our engineering curricula begin with an innovative program for freshmen that introduces them to each of the engineering disciplines. At the same time they participate in challenging, team-building hands-on design competitions that enable them to begin to experience real engineering. All students follow an identical first year curriculum so that their choice of engineering discipline can be deferred until the end of the first year. Students may select minors in any of the other engineering disciplines or in mathematics, science or other subjects.

Please note: The programs in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are accredited at the basic level by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).
