School of Engineering

Academic Resources

The School of Engineering works with the College to provide students with the resources necessary for academic success. Engineering faculty members work closely with first-year students to provide key support in a year that is filled with challenges from how to navigate around campus to how to handle a rigorous course load. Such interactions are part of the supportive educational environment students will experience while participating in engineering programs that have created a network throughout the New York metropolitan region, and the rest of the world, for its students.

Students have access to equipment that will prepare them for laboratory experiments, fieldwork, internships and more. The wind tunnel, computer-controlled lathes, milling machines, photo-elastic stress analyzers, structural “shake table”, and membrane process equipment demonstrate that although the School may have more than 100 years of history, it is equipped for today.

Students are given broad computer skills in their coursework, and the tools to apply the skills to practical applications. There are more than six computer labs that are constantly upgraded to meet current standards. Plus, each engineering department offers a variety of specialty software. The Leo Engineering Building and the rest of the College campus is wired and wireless to make 24/7 network access just a click away.
