THINKING OF LAW SCHOOL?

It pays to plan ahead when you are thinking about applying to a professional school such as law school. The Manhattan College Pre-Law Handbook written by June Dwyer of the English Department who served as the Pre-Law Advisor for more than a decade has been prepared to help you in your investigation of law as a possible career and to direct you to sources of information about LSATs, grades, deadlines, applications, and many other matters that go into making an informed decision.

Remember that "pre-law" is a state of mind rather than a major. Law schools, like medical schools, do not prescribe a particular major as a prerequisite for admission. Any major in any of the five schools of Manhattan College will prepare you to enter law school. However, it is very important that you talk to those who know about law as a profession and about applying to law school as you work out your career plans and goals.
