Summer Programs

Manhattan College in Florence at the Istituto Europeo

Students enroll in an Italian language course.  Language courses are offered at all levels, from beginning to advance, and students are placed according to a placement test administered at the beginning of the program.  (3 credits)

In addition to the 3 credits in language, students earn  3 credits in one of the following courses:  Ital 216/316 Aspects of Italian Culture; Religious Studies 400: Special Topics or English 392: Dante.  These courses are taught by a Manhattan College faculty member.

Field trips to Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, Vinci, Rome and other sites of artistic and historic interests are included to enhance the cultural experience.

Manhattan College in Paris at the Institut Catholique    

Students take an intensive French language course.  Language courses are offered at all levels, from beginning to advanced, and students are placed according to a placement test administered at the beginning of the program.  (3 credits)

In addition to the language credits, students earn 3 credits in Art 400: Special Topics in Music or Aspects of French Culture 216/316.   These courses are taught by a Manhattan College faculty member.

Field trips to Chartres, Reims, Le Mont-Saint-Michel, the chateaux of the Loire valley, and other sites of artistic and historic interest are included to enhance the cultural experience.

 Manhattan College in Lyon, France

Two programs in Lyon, France have been especially designed for this summer with the Engineering and Science students in mind.

Engineering students can earn six credits (3 credits in French Language; and 3 credits in either Mech 325 Heat Transfer or Mech 422 Thermal/Fluids System Design).  These courses are taught by a Manhattan College faculty member.

A second program in Lyon, France is being offered especially for students in the School of Science and Engineering.  Students participating in this program will be able to earn six credits (3 credits in French Language; 3 credits in Science or Engineering Research).

Manhattan College in Madrid, Spain

Students take an intensive Spanish language course.  Language courses are offered at all levels, from beginning to advanced, and students are placed according to a placement test administered at the beginning of the program.  (3 credits)

In addition to the language credits, students earn 3 credits in Rels 400: Special Topics.  The religion course is taught by a Manhattan College faculty member.  This course is taught by a Manhattan College faculty member.

Field trips to sites of artistic and historic interest are included and arranged by a Manhattan College program director.

Manhattan College in Mexico City, Mexico through La Salle, Mexico

Four weeks of intensive Spanish language courses. Upon arrival, students participate in an on-site orientation session and take a placement test to determine the appropriate course level.  Field trips to Mexico City's historic center, Coyoacan, San Angel, Xochimilco, the pyramids of Teotihuacan, the Basilica of Guadalupe, Acolman and other sites of artistic and historical interest enhance the cultural experience. ( 6 credits)
