Dennis Fenton '73 Endows New Chair

Manhattan College pays tribute to science in honor of a newly established endowed chair in biology.

Made possible through a generous gift from alumnus Dr. Dennis Fenton '73 and his wife, Linda, the Catherine and Robert Fenton Chair in Biology enables a professor in the school of science to devote time to training undergraduate students in research.  Dr. Lance Evans, longtime professor of biology, is the first holder of the Catherine and Robert Fenton Chair.

Fenton hopes the endowed chair, named after his parents, will continue to drive undergraduate education in science and, specifically, allow undergraduates to do hands-on research.  On April 22, 2005 he visited the campus to meet with faculty, speak to students and meet Evans, who was appointed to the chair in January.
