HONOR SOCIETIES


Chi Sigma Iota

Chi Sigma Iota is the international honor society for counselors-in-training, counselor educators, and professional counselors. Its mission is to promote scholarship, research,
professionalism, leadership and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the field of counseling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled in a counseling program leading to a graduate degree
  • minimum GPA of 3.5
Or:
  • Faculty, alumni, and participating professional counselors who have given evidence of distinguished scholarship and professional service 
 

Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society, is dedicated to Scholarship and excellence in education. The society is a community of scholars pledged to worthy ideals such as: recognizing scholarship and excellence in education; promoting the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices; enhancing the continuous growth and leadership of its diverse membership; fostering inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues; and maintaining a high degree of professional fellowship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matriculated student in one of Manhattan College's graduate education programs
  • Completion of 15 credit hours of a graduate program
  • GPA of 3.5 and no C's or below
  • A demonstrated commitment to worthy educational ideas
  • Professional experience as an educator or an expression of the intention to continue in the field of education
  • Manifestation of desirable personal qualities
  • Evidence of leadership attributes
