Research

Shakespeare studies; seventeenth- and eighteenth-century studies, with special interests in the metaphysical poets and in the writings of Jonathan Swift; speculative fiction; and writing across the curriculum/disciplines; founder of Manhattan College chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society.

Publications & Professional Activities

Dr. Freije has written articles and reviews on George Chapman, Gerard Manley Hopkins, D.H. Lawrence, the gothic novel, and technological developments in the humanities; and he has participated in an N.E.H. grant for the Arts and Science Core Curriculum program, as coordinator of writing across the curriculum.
