1. All full-time permanent faculty, senior administrators and administrative personnel are eligible for tuition remission at Manhattan College.
2. Faculty, senior administrators and administrative personnel may enroll as part-time students only and take up to a maximum of nine (9) credits per semester. Courses may not be taken if they conflict with work schedules and job responsibilities.
3. Children who are legal dependents* are eligible for tuition remission immediately. Tuition remission will be paid for one bachelor's degree only. No more than 15 credits over the minimum credit requirement for a degree will be allowed.
Christian Brothers who are members of the faculty, administration and administrative personnel are eligible for undergraduate tuition for nieces and nephews only at Manhattan College.
4. Faculty, senior administrators and administrative personnel are eligible for the minimum credit requirements for both undergraduate and graduate schools. Spouses are immediately eligible for the minimum credit requirements for one degree only - Bachelor's or Master's.
5. Tuition and program fees are paid by the College. All other charges are to be paid by employee.
6. Courses are subject to cancellation based on minimum paid enrollment.
7. Any course that is being voluntarily repeated will not be paid for by the College.
8. Faculty, senior administrations, and administrative personnel's spouse/children who wish to enroll at Manhattan College must apply for a degree program and must satisfy all requirements of the Admissions-Financial Aid Center.
9. Each semester the Tuition Assistance form must be properly completed by faculty, administrators, and administrative personnel's spouse/children and approved in order to enroll at the College. Approvals must be obtained in the following sequence:
- Human Resources
- Financial Aid
- Registrar
- Bursar
The college requires that each year the employees enrolled in degree programs complete a Financial Aid Form (FAF) or any other form deemed necessary. Financial Aid will provide any assistance necessary to complete this form. A copy of the completed form must be submitted.
10. As per Article 52 of the Cooperative Agreement with the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Manhattan College will pay full tuition for faculty dependent children who are enrolled at the college of Mount Saint Vincent for only spring and fall semesters for degree programs not offered at Manhattan College, i.e., the nursing program.
11. After five years of employment and in the case of death or total disability, the College extends tuition benefits to surviving sons and daughters while they remain dependent on the surviving parent or guardian. Tuition benefits to the surviving spouse will also be extended.**
12. After twenty years of employment and in the event of regular retirement, the College will extend regular tuition benefits to the sons and daughters and spouses of faculty members and administrators.**
13. In order to be eligible for tuition benefits all procedures must be followed. Failure to follow all procedures in a timely fashion may cause the loss of the tuition benefits.
* Legal dependents are those persons who met the I.R.S. guidelines for financial dependence upon the employee.
** At the discretion of the Vice President for Human Resources and the President, a waiver may be granted.
