Assistant or Associate Professor - Communication DepartmentManhattan College’s Communication Department seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member, at either the associate or assistant professor level, to teach in the broadcasting/telecommunications concentration of our dynamic new undergraduate program. We are looking first and foremost for someone with experience teaching production, or with production experience, to teach intermediate and advanced-level television production courses and web design/web applications. Expertise in news/information-based writing and producing, basic studio equipment and operations, broadcast-quality ENG/EFP video, Avid editing software, and Adobe Creative Suite software a must. Familiarity with digital tapeless studio environments, computer video formats and software, and streaming media a major plus. In addition, we are interested in a candidate who has a generalist background and orientation, and is willing to teach basic courses for the department as well as introductory and other courses in broadcasting/telecommunications. Furthermore, we seek someone who is truly committed to the balance of theory and practice—given our commitment to the liberal arts tradition and the College’s Lasallian tradition, and to take advantage of our location in the northernmost borough of New York City.
