Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the Manhattan College School of Engineering. Applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
The College seeks an energetic academic leader capable of assuming a visionary role, and whose credentials include administrative experience. Evidence of industrial and/or corporate experience will enhance the application. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related discipline. A distinguished record of published research is expected, and the individual should have a commitment to excellence in teaching. Excellent communication and administrative skills are considered important for the position.
Manhattan’s Electrical and Computer Engineering programs are accredited by ABET, and knowledge of these standards is important. The successful candidate should be eligible for appointment to the rank of professor. It is expected that the new Chair will join the Department at a convenient and appropriate time to work with the current Chair enabling a successful transition. The School of Engineering is located in the City of New York with a rich diversity of cultural activities. The ECE Department includes 9 faculty, 160 undergraduate ECE students and 22 Masters students.
