Br. Christopher was born in New York City. He attended grammar school at Ascension School in Manhattan and Sacred Heart School in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Barrytown, NY. Br. Christopher came to Manhattan College after having served as the Supervisor of Schools for the New York – New Jersey Province of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. At the College, he has served as chairman of the Education Department and Director of Graduate Education. Later, he served as director of the College’s Center for Teaching. Br. Christopher holds certifications as an administrator, guidance counselor, social studies teacher and driver education teacher in New York State. He is now retired. In July 2007, he attended an Alumni Campus Abroad program in County Cork, Ireland.

Before coming to Manhattan, Br. Christopher served as Supervisor of Schools for the New York – New Jersey Province of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. He was also employed as Director of Secondary Curriculum for the Archdiocese of New York. Prior to his work with the Archdiocese, Br. Christopher served as principal of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Boys’ High School (formerly in the Bronx) and St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School in West New York, NJ. He was also a teacher at Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, NY, St. Augustine’s High School in Brooklyn and Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx.
Br. Christopher was appointed by the New York State Board of Regents to write Regents examination questions in American history. He also served as chairman of the Supervisor’s Division of the National Catholic Educational Association and chairman of the Administrator’s Council of the Christian Brothers Educational Association. Br. Christopher has been on the Board of Trustees at La Salle Academy in New York City and Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ.
He has been a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the International Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society since 1987. He is a 1997 graduate of the Buttimer Institute.
