Professor Mitchell S. Aboulafia, has been hired as chair of the college's philosophy department.

Manhattan College is presenting a five-day “We Remember” series of events, September 7-11 to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic September 11 attacks.

At Manhattan College, Frawley is remembered with a scholarship in his name. “Kevin would be so proud and happy to have his name associated with a place he loved, while helping deserving students reach their potential,” his widow, Tierney Frawley Tramontozzi, said in a statement from Manhattan College. She has remarried. In addition to his wife, Frawley was survived by his mother, Terry Conklin, and siblings Daniel Frawley, Theresa Frawley, Margaret Gardini and Frances Conklin.

He hung out at a firehouse in his south Yonkers neighborhood as a kid and took the firefighter exam right out of high school. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1994. He joined New York City's bravest in 1995 and volunteered for the Hawthorne Fire Department. When he died responding to the terrorist attacks, his wife, Elaine, was eight months' pregnant with their second daughter. She named the girl Mary Michael.
