When an offer was finally made, it was too good to pass up, and Antigua stepped down from his position at St. Ray's on Monday to accept the spot at Manhattan. He is set to start the next phase of his professional journey on July 1, he said.
The following area residents graduated May 20 with undergraduate degrees from Manhattan College: Kaitlin Begley, of Stockholm, Bachelor of Science in computer information systems; Robert R. Henry, of Glenwood, Bachelor of Science in biology; Kimberly Ann Mohn, of Sussex, Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance; Mary Katherine O'Leary, of Sparta, Bachelor of Science in marketing; and Kevin James Rhenheimer, of Newton, Bachelor of Arts in government.

Stony Point resident Mercedes Garcia's son Francisco Garcia graduated from North Rockland High and will attend and live at Manhattan College. Her son got scholarships and a small student loan. Mercedes Garcia said her real planning was in her son's junior year.
College Commencements in the Bronx this year were peppered with star-studded speakers, with the former president of Bacardi rum and Timothy Cardinal Dolan making the unlikeliest pair at Manhattan College.
