Fidelity Executive VP Kenneth A. Rathgeber Joins Manhattan College’s Board Of TrusteesRIVERDALE, N.Y. – Boston, Mass., resident Kenneth A. Rathgeber, executive vice president and head of risk oversight at Fidelity Investments, has recently been elected to Manhattan College’s Board of Trustees. Rathgeber, who graduated in 1970 from the College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, has been part of Fidelity since 1995, when he took on the role of chief financial officer and treasurer. He went on to serve in such positions as acting president of Fidelity Brokerage Services, president of Fidelity Brokerage Group and executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company, Inc. Fidelity Investments is one of the largest mutual funds company in the U.S., a top provider of work placement retirement savings plans and leading online brokerage firm. Prior to joining Fidelity, Rathgeber, who earned his master’s of business administration from Long Island University, worked at Goldman Sachs for 17 years. During his tenure at the investment-banking firm, he held a variety of assignments, including global co-controller and vice president of propriety/risk analysis, among other positions in the firm’s information technology and accounting divisions. Before joining Goldman, Rathgeber, a certified public accountant in New York State, worked at Dillon Read & Co., the New York Stock Exchange and PricewaterhouseCoopers (then Pricewaterhouse). Rathgeber joins Dennis J. Dirks, former president of The Depository Trust and Clearing Corp., and Peter K. Sweeney, vice president of Parsons Brinckerhoff, as the newest members of the College’s board of trustees. They were elected in July. Manhattan College, founded in 1853, is an independent, Catholic, coeducational institution of higher learning offering more than 40 major programs of study in the areas of arts, business, education, engineering and science, as well as graduate programs in education and engineering. ####
