Essay # 1

Write a three page essay that argues your interpretation of one of the following topics of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Your paper must be double spaced with one inch margins. Remember you must have a strong thesis statement in your introduction, and you must support it with evidence from the text. Be sure to avoid "orphan" citations, citations that do not support your main idea or any of its subtopics. Organization your paper thoughtfully; it is advisable to prepare an outline first.

1- Compare and contrast Hamlet, Laertes, and Fortinbras in terms of their sense of honor and their relationship with their fathers.

2- Hamlet's attitude toward life and view of the world

3- Hamlet's treatment of Gertrude and Ophelia
