INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

What is a Mentee?

  • A mentee is an individual (in our case, a student) who is seeking to grow and develop by gaining information and/or experiences through a relationship with a mentor.

Benefits of being a Mentee

  • The opportunity to develop a relationship with a person in your chosen field of interest
  • The chance to try out ideas, question a professional in your field, and explore career goals in a non-threatening way
  • Develop a broader understanding and value of the workplace and the world and its people
  • Emerge from the process with a clearer sense of yourself and where you are going
  • Meeting a possible employer early in your school career

What are the criteria for students to apply?

  • Must be a freshman or sophomore in the School of Engineering or a sophomore in the School of Arts, Business, Science or Education, committed to meeting with a mentor starting in the fall semester  (dates and times to be arranged with the mentor)
