Campus ministry and social action (CMSA) helps to instill the values of faith, service and community in students of all religious and spiritual traditions. Going beyond textbook learning, CMSA offers the chance to put faith into action by examining issues of social justice and participating in community service projects at home and abroad.
CMSA has opportunities for every student to delve deeper into their spirituality – from attending a prayer service or retreat to building homes with Habitat for Humanity. In New York City alone, Jaspers can visit the elderly in nursing homes, feed the hungry at local soup kitchens and foster education by tutoring underprivileged children. But it doesn’t stop there. Annual immersion service trips to Africa, Latin America and New Orleans help Manhattan College students to reach a wider scope of need.
CMSA welcomes students to stop by Cornerstone in Miguel Hall Room 209 anytime to enjoy the CMSA lounge and resources. Satellite offices of social action are located in Thomas Hall 503 and 504.
