All new residents enjoy an Ultimate + $50 Jasper Dining Dollars meal plan. This plan includes unlimited access to Locke's Loft during their hours of operation. http://gourmetdiningllc.com/campus/manhattan/
After the first semester in residence, first-year students can select a new meal plan. You can fill out a meal plan change request at the end of the fall semester or during the first week of the spring semester on the Manhattan College self-service website at that time.
Yes, each room has access to the school’s network and the Internet via an RJ-45 Ethernet jack. You must provide Ethernet card and patch cable for desktop computer. There is also wireless Internet available in many rooms on campus and in common areas of Overlook Manor.
No, each student is responsible for bringing her own telephone. Every student is assigned a telephone number; each resident has his own telephone connection jack. Audix voicemail features are included. All students are assigned a PAC (Personal Authorization Code) in order to dial off campus.
Many times, general information for students is left on students’ voicemail on their room phones. In order for a student to receive these messages, it’s important for students to have a room phone with their voicemail/audix set up. In addition, you can save money by using your room phone to call anywhere on campus instead of using your cell phone and incurring charges.
All rooms are equipped with DirecTV. Residents provide their own coaxial cable for the television. Stations available include: HBO, MTV, SPORTS, CNN, VH1 and many others.
You may bring a small refrigerator less than 6.0 cubic feet and a microwave between 0.7-2.0 in size and between 600-800 in watts.
The room assignments will be mailed out during the month of August. Your packet will contain your direct roommate’s contact information.
Yes, freshmen may bring their cars, but will need to purchase a parking permit by contacting the Manhattan College Public Safety office at 718-862-4240. Please note, cars are not recommended for first-year students.
Each resident is given a mailbox when they check into their residence hall. The mailboxes for Jasper, Chrysostom and Overlook are located in the bottom of Thomas Hall. East Hill and Horan Hall mailboxes are located in Horan Hall. Any mail or package that is too large for the mailbox can be picked up in the mail room. The mail room will place a notice in your mailbox that you have a package, so it is important to check your mailbox daily.
All residence halls have washers and dryers. There is no additional cost to use the washers and dryers.
Twin extra long is recommended. The RSA (resident student association) will be mailing information on purchasing linens if interested.
