  • What Other Students are Asking
Frequently asked questions students ask about the program:
    • In what ways does this program differ from the in-person?
Students electing to take the online option will have access to all of the same lecture courses and the same curriculum as students taking courses in person.  The only difference is that students will not be able to take an elective that involves laboratory work such as CHMG 735 (Independent Project or Thesis). Also, students taking the online program would not be eligible for graduate research or laboratory assistantships.
    • Can I participate in research as a remote/online student?
Yes, you can participate in research as a remote student. You can apply either three or six elective credits to get credit for research under the supervision of a department faculty member. A three-credit research project would take place over one semester, while a six-credit thesis would be performed over two semesters.
    • Can I attend graduation in person when I complete the program?
Yes, of course, assuming you have met the requirements for attending on-campus events by the Office of Health Services and have the ability to travel to the New York area during graduation
