Tonight's Basketball Season PreviewThis Sunday, Sept. 13, members from the Manhattan College team of alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends will run or walk in the Komen NYC Race for the Cure in Central Park. Register Here. Once you create your log-in information, click on “join a team” and search Manhattan College. We are meeting in the Alumni Office on campus,100 Memorial Hall, First Floor, at 8:00 am for distribution of team shirts before taking the #1 train to 78th & Broadway to walk over to Central Park. Annual Career Fair Slated for Oct. 21Representatives from more than 100 companies will converge on campus on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. in Draddy Gymnasium to speak with interested students and alumni about job opportunities, internships and co-op positions. The career fair serves as a chance to meet with potential employers, as well as a terrific networking opportunity to reconnect with other Manhattan College alumni, many of whom act as company representatives. Coordination of the event and our enthusiastic alumni volunteers is led by Ken Kelly '54. St. Thomas More Law SocietyThe St. Thomas More Law Society will hold a reception for alumni to interact with students interested in pursuing a career in law on Monday, Oct. 19, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The free event will take place in the Alumni Room of the O’Malley Library. Open House Brunch for Prospective StudentsThe 2009 open house is part of a weeklong celebration marking the installation of Brennan O'Donnell, Ph.D., as Manhattan College’s 19th president. Alumni are welcome to bring college-bound high school and transfer students to a complimentary brunch hosted by our alumni society on Sunday, Oct. 25. Mass will precede the event at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers and brunch will be in Dante’s Den (Thomas Hall) at 11:00 a.m. Advance reservations are required. The open house is an opportunity for prospective students to visit campus and meet representatives from all areas of the College.
Athletic Hall of Fame Induction CeremonyThe 2009 Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14. It will honor Bill Goodfellow ’68, basketball (posthumously); John Leonard ’82, basketball; Marty Ludwikowski ’80, track; Aliann Pompey ’99, track; Mike Quigley ’72, baseball; Gerry Ryan ’90, track & field; and Gerard Smith ’79, tennis. New York City Club ReceptionBrennan O’Donnell, Ph.D., president of Manhattan College, will join alumni at the fall networking reception of the New York City Club on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Hosted by New York Life, the event is $50 per person and includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Lake Placid Ski and Snow TripManhattan College alumni and friends are invited to enjoy a fun winter weekend at Lake Placid, N.Y., from Jan. 22-24, 2010.
