Celebrate De La Salle Week at Manhattan College

Dr. Thelma Baxter to Speak on Women in Education March 12, 2008

Dr. Thelma Baxter, assistant professor of education, will speak on "Women in Education: A Personal History of Her Journey Through the NYC Education System," on March 12 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Alumni Room of O'Malley Library. Manhattan College's Fifth Annual Relay for Life

The Manhattan College community will come together at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is an overnight fundraiser held each year in Draddy Gymnasium and in hundreds of communities around the country. College Presents Human Rights Painting Project

A selection of paintings of human rights leaders/activists by artist Tom Block will be on display through May 2 in the fifth floor lobby and Alumni Room of Manhattan College's O'Malley Library. The Human Rights Painting Project is sponsored by the Manhattan College archives. Read.

 

Lasallian Thursday

Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick, professor of management, will speak at the April 3 Lasallian Thursday Luncheon at 12:20 p.m. in Cornerstone (Miguel 209). Fitzpatrick will discuss his “passion,” the place where head and heart come together for individuals who serve as both scholar and educator. College To Host Undergraduate Mathematics Conference

Manhattan College will host the third annual Spuyten Duyvil Undergraduate Mathematics Conference on Saturday, April 5. The goal of the conference is to offer undergraduates the opportunity to attend and actively participate in a professional meeting while encouraging mathematical conversation among students. In the past two years, the conference has drawn participants from colleges throughout the tri-state area, New England and Pennsylvania. This year's keynote address will be delivered by Carl Pomerance, professor of mathematics at Dartmouth College .
