Jaspers Eye U.S. Olympic Trials

With his recent triple jump of 15.85 meters achieved at the NCAA East Regional Track & Field Championships, Manhattan College senior Dexter Jules '09 is in line to qualify for the United States Olympic Trials to be held in Eugene, Ore., beginning June 27. Already qualified for the trials is Manhattan alum Thomas “Jake” Freeman '04 in the hammer throw. Read.

 

Men's Hoops Welcomes New Coordinator of Basketball Operations

Council

New York City native C.J. Council has joined Manhattan College as the men's basketball program's coordinator of operations. Council spent last season as a graduate assistant under Norm Roberts at St. John's University. A graduate of St. John's, Council also served as an assistant junior varsity coach for six seasons at his alma mater Christ the King High School in Queens. Read.

 

 

 

Baseball's Dan Forman Named To Freshman All-American Team

Manhattan College 's Dan Forman '11 was named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger's Freshman All-American Baseball Team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on June 4. The left-handed pitcher went 8-4 with 81 strikeouts and a 4.70 ERA this past season for the Jaspers, who finished the campaign with an impressive 31-20-1 record. Read.

 

Three Jasper Track and Field Stars Honored

Track

Manhattan College hammer throwers Paul Peulich '08 and Seid Mujanovic '10, and triple jumper Dexter Jules '09, have been named to the East All-Region Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The three were honored based on their performances at the NCAA East Region Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., in early June. Read.
