Manhattan College Partners With WCBS-TV To Sponsor Special Television Advertising and Web Programming Around Inauguration

Manhattan College has partnered with WCBS-TV New York on a special sponsorship of television advertising and web programming scheduled to cover the Jan. 20 inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. As part of the agreement, the College will be receiving 1) sponsorship of 25 vignettes that will run between Jan. 5-20. The 30-second spots, produced by WCBS-TV, look back at past presidential inaugurations; 2) ten 30-second commercials to air on Jan. 20, prior to the inauguration. Commercials to be included are Manhattan Master Builders, What America Needs, Teaching the Leaders of Tomorrow, and two Best of Both Worlds spots. The commercials will run 10 times during the day’s coverage of the inauguration; 3) sponsorship of the “Countdown to Inauguration” clock on the WCBS-TV home page at Here; 4) total sponsorship of the WCBS-TV politics Web page Here for the month of January; 5) exclusive sponsorship of the WCBS-TV home page on Jan. 20. College Will Honor Syska Hennessy Group Chairman at De La Salle Dinner

Manhattan College will present John Magliano ’66, chairman of Syska Hennessy Group, Inc., with the De La Salle Medal at the College’s annual fundraising dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009. The ceremony will be held at The Waldorf=Astoria in New York City. Read. Magliano, a licensed professional engineer in 12 states, joined Syska Hennessy Group, one of the country’s leading consulting, engineering, technology and construction firms, in 1970, after he graduated from the College with a degree in electrical engineering and served a four-year tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force. School of Business Receives Extension of Accreditation From AACSB

The school of business at Manhattan College has received an extension of accreditation from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the premier accrediting agency for business programs worldwide. Of the 555 institutions throughout the world to hold AACSB accreditation, only 42 of them are undergraduate-only programs such as Manhattan. The College received its initial accreditation by AACSB in 2004. Manhattan’s achievement will be recognized at the AACSB International Conference and Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla., in April.
