College Set To Host 167th Undergraduate Commencement

Manhattan College will award close to 700 degrees in some 40 major fields of study from its five schools in arts, business, education, engineering and science at its 167th Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday, May 17. The ceremony will be held in Draddy Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. Read. The College’s Spring (Graduate) Commencement will take place on Wednesday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers. Read. In Memoriam

Manhattan College mourns the passing of four respected members of the College’s community: Anthony Scala Sr. ‘43, former member of Manhattan’s board of trustees; Dr. Mark Taylor, professor of English; John Marchi ’42, who spent 50 years as a New York state senator from Staten Island and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws by the College in 1973; and Thomas Gilbart, former director of the counseling center. A campus memorial service for Taylor will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers.
