Manhattan Athletic Department Expands Multimedia Platforms for 2009-10The Manhattan College athletic department has announced the expansion of its multimedia platforms for the 2009-10 academic year. The department has expanded its JasperVision live video broadcast package at GoJaspers.com. In addition, Jasper fans can now follow all the happenings of Manhattan’s 19 Division I teams via Twitter and Facebook. The comprehensive JasperVision broadcast schedule will begin this fall with more than 25 live events, as well as all men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball contests. Additionally, athletic events also will be streamed this spring at Gaelic Park. Read.
Men’s Basketball Announces Nonconference ScheduleManhattan College has released the complete 2009-10 men’s basketball nonconference schedule, which features a meeting with Southeastern Conference contender Vanderbilt and rematches with 2009 NCAA Tournament participants American University and Morgan State. The Jaspers add Florida Atlantic to the slate and will host a home contest for the annual ESPNU Bracketbuster series in February. Read. The regular season begins on Saturday, Nov. 14 against New Jersey Institute of Technology in Draddy Gymnasium.
Tom Pardalis Named Softball CoachManhattan College named Tom Pardalis head softball coach on Aug. 17. A 37-year coaching veteran, Pardalis was an assistant at Marist when the Red Foxes won the MAAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2006, and has been a collegiate assistant coach for the past six years. Most recently, he was an assistant at Western Connecticut State University, helping the Colonials win the 2007 ECAC Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2008. Also in 2008, he coached the Little East Conference Pitcher of the Year and four all-conference players. Read.
