Manhattan Launching Learning and Living Community for Class of 2015

Starting in fall 2011, Manhattan College will launch the College’s first learning and living program, The Arches, to assist approximately 100 first-year students in their academic and social transition to college life.

Manhattan College Forms Partnership with CollegeBound Initiative

Manhattan College is proud to announce its newly formed partnership with CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) launching in fall 2011. CBI is a school-based college guidance program that helps students in inner-city public schools reach their potential and attend college.

Local Council Honoring Jeff Horn

The Riverdale Jewish Community Relations Council is honoring Jeff Horn, Ph.D., professor and chair of the history department and director of the Holocaust Resource Center at Manhattan College, on April 3 at the 27th Annual Legislative Awards and Breakfast with the Martin Rollins Interfaith Brotherhood Award. The event is held annually to celebrate those who have made a difference in Riverdale and around the world.

Manhattan Students Volunteer in New Orleans During Winter Break

From Jan. 16 - 23, a group of 13 volunteers from Manhattan College’s Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience
(L. O. V. E.) traveled to New Orleans and worked with Operation Helping Hands to rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Senior Will Present Paper at the American Academy of Religion Conference

Douglas Mandelkow, a senior and a double religious studies and history major, will present his paper “Religious Affiliation within the World of Online Gaming” at the Mid-Atlantic Conference for the American Academy of Religion on March 18. The presentation is based upon research conducted for Mandelkow’s honors thesis in religious studies.
